At Omana Beach

IMG_1373.jpgPohutukawa trees standing proudly
Sparkling blue water shining in the hot sun
Rocks are statues
Birds snoring as loud as it could
Children laughing but couldn't stop
Shells clashing onto the golden sand
Prickly green grass poking me
Rough dry leaves rubbing on me
A hot barbeque cooking
Mud that stinks as if there were pigs in it
Sea water as smelly as a pile of salt next to you
A hot sun burning me as if it wanted me to get sunburn
Rubbish waiting sadlt for someone to pick it up
Annoying sand in my shoes waiting for the shoe to come off.

Flipping off the board

“It will be great fun” suggested Dad with a big smile on his face. Here I was shivering in the corner of the pool. “Oh no” I say to myself. I know what he wants me to do. I hear him calling out my name. I walk nervously to him “Come on you know what you have to do, don’t just stand there” says Dad.

I stood at the flipping board to jump off. “Hurry up, jump off”! Dad shouts. I think to myself, ‘Come on Paige, you can do it’.

Dad is in the water ready to catch me. I decide to jump off so my Dad doesn’t think I am a wimp. At last I am ready. “1.2.3..... GO!” yells my Dad! SPLASH! While I was down in the water I feel someone pick me up. I know it is Dad. When I am up my heart is like a pounding drum. After all that I decide to jump off the flipping board all the time now!
